Anthropic rolls out ID, selfie verification for some Claude users

Anthropic has started requiring some Claude users to undergo identity verification, including submission of government-issued ID and a selfie. The process is currently limited to select users. According to the company, users may be prompted to verify their identity when accessing certain features, during routine platform integrity checks, or as part of broader safety measures.
