Anthropic to build in-house AI chip design team for Claude

Anthropic has confirmed it is building an in-house silicon team to design custom AI chips for its Claude models. The company is hiring engineers with expertise in chip design, verification, and hardware-software stack to co-design chips so Claude can run faster, more efficiently, and at larger scale. It will continue using hardware from Amazon Web Services, Google, Nvidia and AMD.
