Anti-immigrant protests intensify in S Africa ahead of deadline for immigrants

Police and security personnel have been deployed in South Africa as planned anti-immigrant protests intensified ahead of the unofficial June 30 deadline for undocumented foreigners to leave the country. Shops in Johannesburg remained shut while many foreigners have already fled in fear of the protests turning violent. "Jobs are being taken by illegal foreigners. It's not fair," a protester said.
