Antibiotic resistant bacteria killed 12 lakh people worldwide in 2019: Research
More than 12 lakh people died worldwide in 2019 from infections caused by bacteria resistant to antibiotics, according to a research published in The Lancet. The number is more than the annual death toll from malaria or AIDS. The estimate of global deaths from antimicrobial resistance is based on an analysis of 204 countries by a team of international researchers.
