Antonelli falls ill ahead of potential history-making F1 weekend

Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli was excused from his mandatory media duties on Thursday after falling ill ahead of the Mexico City Grand Prix 2026. The ​team said he was ​recovering from a viral illness and "feeling under ⁠the weather", adding, "We expect him to be back tomorrow." The 20-year-old could become F1's youngest-ever world champion this weekend.
