APJ Kalam's only property was his books and clothing
Former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam only owned 2,500 books, a wrist watch, six shirts, four trousers, three suits and a pair of shoes when he died in 2015. The Bharat Ratna awardee survived on the royalty received from the books he wrote and the government pension. Kalam, popularly called 'The People's President', was born on October 15, 1931.
