Apple Japan hit with $98-mn back taxes for devices sold to tourists: Report

Apple's Japan unit is reportedly being charged 13 billion yen ($98 million) in additional taxes over bulk sales of duty-free devices to foreign tourists. As per the Nikkei newspaper, one tourist purchased hundreds of handsets at once. Notably, Japan lets tourists buy items without paying the 10% consumption tax, but the exemption doesn't apply to purchases for resale purpose.
