Apple has set up its first direct subsidiary in India for research and development, The Economic Times reported, citing a regulatory filing. The unit, named Apple Operations India, listed procurement of engineering equipment and hiring engineers for hardware development among its proposed activities. Apple has also committed to providing financial support to the unit.
