Apple threatened to pull Grok from app store over sexualised deepfakes: Report

Apple privately threatened to remove xAI-owned Grok from its app store in January after it failed to stop the creation of sexualised deepfakes, NBC News reported. Apple reportedly contacted the teams behind both X and Grok upon receiving several complaints and found them in violation of its guidelines. Apple reviewed Grok versions until they resolved violations, the report said.
