Argentina could become first team in World Cup history to reach World Cup 2026 semi-final without playing a single team in FIFA's top 10 rankings. They faced Algeria (29th), Austria (23rd) and Jordan (73rd) in group-stage. Argentina defeated Cape Verde (64th) in Round of 32 and Egypt (24th) in Round of 16 and will face Switzerland (14th) in quarter-finals.
