Army launches Op Him Setu to evacuate stranded tourists in Sikkim

The Indian Army has launched Operation Him Setu in North Sikkim to evacuate stranded tourists from Lachen after landslides cut off connectivity. "135 tourists along with their vehicles have been safely evacuated," the Army said. "In close coordination with civil authorities, efforts remain ongoing to ensure...safe evacuation of approximately 1000 remaining tourists," it added.
