Around 2 crore illegal Bangladeshi migrants in India: Govt

The BJP-led government on Wednesday informed the Parliament that around 2 crore illegal Bangladeshi immigrants are living in India. A Home Ministry official claimed that India has set a target of constructing a wired fence along the Indo-Bangla border by 2017. This comes amid reports that illegal immigrants are living in the bordering states of West Bengal, Assam, and Meghalaya.
