Arun Subramanian becomes 1st Indian-American NY Southern District Court judge

Indian-American Arun Subramanian was confirmed as a District Judge for the Southern District of New York (SDNY) on Tuesday, becoming the first Indian-origin person to serve on the bench. The 44-year-old was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and earned his law degree from Columbia Law School. His nomination was announced in September 2022 by US President Joe Biden.
