Arunachal's Bugun tribe turns dying forest into wildlife reserve

The Bugun tribe in Arunachal Pradesh changed the forests around Singchung into a wildlife reserve after its decline due to hunting and timber extraction. The tribe explored ecotourism by guiding visitors through forest trails and hosting them to homestays. The Singchung Bugun Village Community Reserve is now spread across 17 square kilometres and generates ₹50 lakh in annual revenue.
