ASCI warns LinkedIn influencers over non-disclosure rules
The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) has criticised LinkedIn for lacking disclosure tools, urging influencers to clarify paid partnerships. ASCI flagged 60 non-disclosure cases last week, with 56 under review. Influencers must disclose material connections clearly, as failure to do so violates the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Repeat violations will be reported to regulators.
