Leaders of the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on Sunday established the 'ASEAN Economic Community' in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The agreement, signed in the presence of PM Narendra Modi, envisages free movement of trade and capital in a region having a combined economic output of $2.6 trillion. This integration would make the community the world's seventh-largest economy.
