Asha's 'Dum Maaro Dum' was initially a duet for Lata, Usha: Zeenat
In a long tribute to late singer Asha Bhosle, veteran actress Zeenat Aman shared her experience with the singer on their most iconic song, 'Dum Maaro Dum'. She revealed that the song was originally meant for Asha's older sister, Lata Mangeshkar, and Usha Uthup. However, music director RD Burman wanted the song to have a "sultry voice" that Asha possessed.
