Ashwini Bhide becomes BMC's first woman commissioner

A 1995-batch IAS officer of Maharashtra cadre, Ashwini Bhide, has been appointed as the first woman Municipal Commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). She'll replace Bhushan Gagrani, who'll retire on Tuesday. Bhide has previously served as the Additional Chief Secretary in the CM's Office under Devendra Fadnavis and as the Managing Director of Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC).
