Asian coal prices to stay high on Indonesia supply crunch: Fitch

Asian thermal coal prices will remain elevated in coming months due to Indonesian supply disruptions, lower Chinese production, and gas-to-coal switching in Japan and South Korea, Fitch Ratings said. Indonesian exports fell 23.3% YoY in August and 18.1% in September. While miners benefit near-term, longer-term pressure from declining imports and clean energy shift persists.
