Assam artist turns 7,000 discarded pens into 6-ft tall Durga idol

Assam-based artist Pradip Kumar Ghosh has created a six-foot-tall Durga idol using around 7,000 discarded pens and markers for Durga Puja 2026. The Dhubri-based private tutor and sculptor spent nearly four months crafting the idol, which will be displayed at Usha Sangha's Durga Puja pandal in Assam's Dhubri. Ghosh has been creating idols from discarded materials since 1992.
