Assam Assembly has removed 2-hr break for Friday 'namaz': CM Sarma

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that the state Assembly has abolished a two-hour break provided every Friday to Muslim legislators for 'namaz'. He added that by doing so, the state Assembly has "prioritised productivity and shed another vestige of colonial baggage". "This practice was introduced by Muslim League's Syed Saadulla in 1937," he further said.
