Assam facing worst flood in 60 years, 21 people dead within 24 hours

The death toll from rain-triggered floods in Assam crossed 40, with 21 people losing their lives in a single day, reports said. This comes as the eastern districts of Assam are facing the worst floods in 60 years, as per a report in The Hindu.
