Assam flood death toll climbs to 80, over 2 lakh remain affected

The death toll due to the Assam floods has increased to 80, as 2.12 lakh people in eight districts remain affected, officials said on Friday. The Charaideo district is the worst-hit, with nearly 80,000 people affected, followed by Sivasagar and Jorhat even as the situation has improved since Wednesday. The government is operating 112 relief camps for over 75,000 people.
