Assam flood death toll rises to 61, over 7 lakh still affected

The death toll of the ongoing floods in Assam has risen to 61, after 14 people were killed in the last 24 hours. Over 7.05 lakh people are affected across 12 districts in the state, with Sivasagar being the worst-hit. The SDRF and NDRF on Friday evacuated nearly 1,000 people from various areas to safe locations, as rescue operations continue.
