Assam Govt adopts proposal for suspending APSC chairman

The Assam cabinet on Wednesday adopted a proposal to be moved before the state Governor for suspending Assam Public Service Commission chairman Rakesh Kumar Paul over charges of alleged corruption. Only the President can remove a chairman of a state Public Service Commission, after making a reference to the Supreme Court for "misbehaviour" or any other reason.
