Assam govt approves 2nd wildlife sanctuary in Barak Valley
The Assam government has approved the setting up of a second wildlife sanctuary in the state's Barak Valley, which is home to a multitude of birds and mammals. The Barak Bhuban Wildlife Sanctuary will be spread over an area of 320 sq km between the Barak river and the Sonai river. The valley is already home to Borail Wildlife Sanctuary.
