Assam to plant 1 crore saplings before Independence Day

Assam has launched a statewide plantation drive to plant one crore saplings ahead of Independence Day, which will see participation from around 10 lakh students. The government has planned on supporting the saplings after the drive with job card holders assisting students in nurturing them. Students maintaining their plants through geo-tagged monitoring will receive 'Briksha Bandhu' certificates.
