The total assets of Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and his wife have more than doubled in the past five years, according to the affidavit filed with his nomination as a BJP candidate for the Assam polls. The family’s assets stood at ₹17.27 crore in 2021, which rose to ₹35.16 crore in 2026. Sarma will contest election from Jalukbari constituency.
