Astronomers measure full size of largest known galaxy

Astronomers have measured the full size of largest known galaxy 'IC 1101' by capturing its deepest-ever images. The galaxy spans roughly 1.7 million light-years and contains an estimated 3.4 trillion solar masses in stars. The 'IC 1101' galaxy is roughly 17 times bigger than the Milky Way galaxy, and its stellar mass outweighs the total mass of the Milky Way.
