Astronomers spot 'dragon egg' that may be early stage of star formation

Astronomers using the ALMA telescope have spotted a tiny core nicknamed the 'dragon egg' that may represent an early stage of massive star formation. Located in the Dragon Cloud, around 16,300 light-years from Earth, it appears to contain 20-30 times the Sun's mass. The surrounding clump holds roughly 1,061 times the Sun's mass but emits little energy for its size.
