Astronomers spot star slowly consuming brown dwarf 300 light-yrs away
Astronomers at MIT have spotted a star slowly consuming material from a brown dwarf, a planet-like object, around 300 light-years from Earth. The two objects are extremely close, with the brown dwarf orbiting the star every 87 minutes. The star is around 85 times as massive as Jupiter, while the brown dwarf is around 25 times as massive.
