At least 30 people were killed in a stampede at Citadelle Laferriere, a UNESCO World Heritage site, in Haiti after large crowds gathered for an annual celebration. The site was packed with students and visitors following social media promotions of the event, authorities said. The tragedy began near the entrance and worsened due to heavy rain, authorities added.
