At least one Indian soldier commits suicide every 3 days

At least one Indian soldier from the Army, Navy or Air Force commits suicide every three days, according to Ministry of Defence data. As many as 348 soldiers committed suicide while on duty from January 1, 2014 to March 31, 2017. The ministry claims that most suicides were due to personal reasons, including land disputes in the soldiers' hometowns.
