Atiq seeks permission to attend funeral of son killed in encounter

Gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed, who is in jail in connection with the Umesh Pal murder case, has sought permission from a magistrate to attend the last rites of his son Asad, who was killed in an encounter by Uttar Pradesh Police this week. His lawyer said the plea will be presented in the court of the chief judicial magistrate on Saturday.
