Attacking Oman not our choice, IRGC acting independently: Iran Minister

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is acting independently, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said, stressing that attack on Oman "was not our choice". The IRGC, established by Ruhollah Khomeini in May 1979 in aftermath of Iranian Revolution, is separate from the traditional Iranian Army. IRGC reports to the Supreme Leader, a position occupied by Khamenei before he was killed.
