Iranian Embassy in Italy reacted after Paolo Zampolli, Donald Trump's envoy in Italy, asked FIFA to replace Iran with Italy in World Cup 2026. "The attempt to exclude Iran from the World Cup only shows the 'moral bankruptcy' of the US...Italy has achieved the greatness of football on the field, not thanks to political rents," it stated.
