Audio claiming mobile number suspension by TRAI over usage is fake

PIB Fact Check has clarified that an audio call, claiming to be from Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), saying users' mobile numbers will be suspended due to "abnormal usage" is fake. The audio call asks users to "press 1" for "more details". "TRAI does not send messages to customers for disconnection of numbers," PIB Fact Check said.
