Elon Musk's X accused Australia of trying to give its internet regulator unfair information-gathering powers and undermining US law through plans to tighten enforcement of its under-16 social media ban. The platform opposed the proposals in a submission to an Australian Senate committee. X also opposed a plan to double the maximum penalty for non-compliance to AUD 99 million.
