Australia's Damien Martyn scored an unbeaten 88 and put up 234 runs for the third wicket alongside Ricky Ponting while playing with a broken finger in the final of the 2003 World Cup against India on March 23. Throughout the 2003 edition of the tournament, India lost only two matches, both to Australia.
