Australia beaches shut after 3,600 people stung by jellyfish

Several Australian beaches were shut after nearly 3,600 people were stung by bluebottle jellyfish over the weekend. "Due to the northeasterly winds, we will continue to see bluebottles hanging around. If stung, ensure you see a lifeguard to be treated with ice or hot water," a rescue organisation said. A sting from bluebottle jellyfish can be painful, but not life-threatening.
