Australia delays world’s first work-from-home law amid opposition

Australia has postponed the world's first work-from-home law from September 1, 2026, to July 1, 2027, following opposition from business groups. The legislation would give eligible full-time, part-time and regular casual workers a legal right to work from home. Employees whose jobs can reasonably be performed remotely would be allowed to work from home two days a week.
