Australia formally recognises West Jerusalem as Israel's capital

Australia formally recognises West Jerusalem as Israel's capital, reversing decades of Middle East policy, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said on Saturday. However, he said the country will not move its embassy to West Jerusalem immediately. Israel regards all of Jerusalem as its capital, including the eastern sector that it annexed after the 1967 Middle East war.
