Australia lose a semi-final for the first time in World Cup history

The eight-wicket defeat against England today was the first instance of Australia losing a World Cup semi-final. Australia had won six of their previous seven semi-finals and their 1999 semi-final against South Africa had ended in a tie. Australia were dismissed for 223 by England, only the second time they lost all their 10 wickets in a World Cup semi-final.
