Australia expands biometrics for Indian visa applicants

Australia expanded biometric requirements for Indian visa applicants from October 26, 2026, with certain new applicants now required to provide fingerprints and a facial image. Applicants can visit one of 16 VFS Global-managed centres across India or use the Australian Immi App. The move aims to reduce fraud and strengthen migration system integrity, without affecting already-granted visas.
