Australia plans 2% tax on tech firms unless they pay news outlets

Australia unveiled draft laws to levy 2.25% tax on tech firms unless they strike deals to pay local news outlets for news on their platforms. The proposed News Bargaining Incentive would tax Meta, Google and TikTok on their local revenues.
