Australia proposes social media ban for children under 16

Australia said it will introduce "world-leading" legislation to ban children under 16 from using social media apps like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc. The legislation will be introduced into the Australian parliament this year, with the laws coming into effect 12 months after being ratified by lawmakers. There will be no exemptions on the age limit for children with parental consent.
