Australia weather bureau predicts El Nino arrival in June

Australia's Bureau of Meteorology has predicted the possible return of El Nino conditions over the Pacific Ocean by June 2026. El Nino, marked by warming sea surface temperatures in the central and eastern Pacific, often weakens India's monsoon rainfall. Notably, the IMD had earlier indicated in its long-range forecast that the 2026 southwest monsoon is likely to remain below normal.
