Australian man sets Guinness World Record as world’s loudest person

Joseph McGrail, a resident of Australia’s Canberra, has been recognised as the world’s loudest person by Guinness World Records. McGrail, a town crier, shouted the word “now” at 122.4 dB, a noise level comparable to a chainsaw, an ambulance siren at close range or a jet taking off. His feat surpassed the previous record of 121.7 dB set in 1994.
