Australian scientists create heart valve tissue using stem cells

Australian scientists have created human heart valve-like tissue using stem cells. Led by the Murdoch Children's Research Institute, the study found the lab-grown tissue behaved like natural heart valves and could help understand heart valve diseases. Published in Cell Stem Cell, the research may pave the way for treatments using a patient's own cells, especially in children.
