Australian university approaches UGC to set up branch in India

The University of Western Australia (UWA) has applied to University Grants Commission to set up branch campuses in India, with the hub in Mumbai, officials said on Thursday. "We feel connected to India...wish to deepen...connection into a substantial footprint," Chancellor Diane Smith-Gander said. UWA will be the first from Australia's Group of Eight universities to open a campus in India.
